During the summer of 2016, in partnership with the Francophone Sud School District, the Multicultural Association of Fredericton, and the Government of Canada, the French school community of Fredericton-Oromocto planned its first camp for teens. The main purpose of the camp was the francization and integration of young newcomers enrolled in French schools around the area.
Around thirty immigrant teenagers (12 years old +), including a few Canadians, went to the activities. With the help of many community partners, the group was able to attend different workshops given by École Les Éclaireurs on robotics, music, sports, and more.
Throughout the sunny season, many outings were held to help teens discover the region and the Acadian, Canadian, and New Brunswick culture. Among them, they visited the Pays de la Sagouine, Kings Landing, Mactaquac, Magic Mountain, and the New Brunswick Museum.
It was a summer full of joy, friendship, and discoveries for this group of teens, thanks to the generosity shown by all community partners!
