Your voice, as a young citizen, can contribute to building New Brunswick’s future! We want to hear your ideas!
By getting engaged in a cause or in something you feel passionate about, you can learn new skills, develop your identity and build self-confidence. Participating in individual projects can make you feel like you’re doing something useful, like you’re making a difference as a young citizen. It can make you feel like you belong, whether to a group, a cause, or a community.
To better understand youth engagement, we need to understand the difference between “participation” and “engagement”. Participation is often the first step. Engagement is investing yourself in something important to you and doing everything in your power to achieve your goals.
Taking the Next Step invites you to become engaged in building and conveying the Acadian and Francophone identity as well as promoting bilingualism through the causes you’re already passionate about, whether that be the environment, sports, the arts, issues relating to inclusion or the French-speaking world.
